Year 2 enjoyed exploratory drama activities in the Gym, turning themselves into space explorers and funny shaped aliens. Back in the Art Room they made a giant space banner and rocket ships to fly over it . #dramaworkshop #artsandcrafts #art #year2 #northumberlandschools https://t.co/04Oh8ZXCH7

This week we want to empower children to have individuality and help them understand that everyone is unique. Everyone has unique gifts and talents, their own unique personality and style. Likes and dislikes are not exactly the same as other people. We may have different skin, hair, family, religion, and language than others. We should be grateful for all of these differences. #wellbeingwednesday #unique #prepschool
Year 2 are meeting the instruments in music this term. Each week they get to play, draw, listen to, and learn all about a different instrument. This week it's the cello! #music #cello #newexperiences #prep
Our Wellbeing focus this week is about friendship. Friendship is one of life's greatest gifts. Unlike some things, like your bedtime (!), your friends are your choice. Starting a new friendship can be exciting, but building a great friendship takes work! Have a look at our post and see what being a true friends means. #friendship #wellbeingwednesday #chandlingsvalues #relationships #prep

This week's book recommendation is by Eleanor in Year 6, Little House on the Prairie: "These books are about the past in America, when everyone went to the countryside to settle and build settlements and houses. It is based around one family's experiences, and particularly from the perspective of Laura. It is like she is telling you the story, but sometimes Mary, her older sister, helps. You should read this book if you are interested in finding out what happens to them. There are some tragic moments, but that is part of any adventure. There are 7 books in the series, as Laura grows up. My favourite so far is this first one."
