New Dining Hall at Barfield

At the start of term, Barfield officially opened a brand new Dining Hall with a visit from the Mayor of Farnham, Cllr Alan Earwalker.

The new building is a sustainably designed facility that promises to connect pupils to the natural environment and inspire them while they learn.  It took four months to complete and includes a stunning new dining hall with full-height windows running from floor to ceiling offering panoramic views and bringing the outside in. Other new additions include a commercial kitchen and an external veranda overlooking the grounds.

The Trust enlisted the help of award-winning TG Escapes to design and build the new facilities. Headmaster Andy Boyle said: "Since I joined Barfield, the need for a dedicated dining hall has been something I have wanted to address. For over 50 years, the sports hall doubled up as a place to eat; it was a noisy, chaotic, impractical space with high windows and no views. We now have a beautifully designed eco-friendly functional building for everyone at the school to enjoy and benefit from."
