New CEO Announced

The Trustees of Prep Schools Trust are delighted to announce that Andrew Ashton will succeed Tom Beardmore-Gray as Chief Executive on 1 September this year.
They believe that he has all of the skills and experience to lead and develop our schools under the umbrella of the newly formed Radley Schools Group.
Andrew has been Bursar at Radley College since 2008, so he already has many years of education sector experience under his belt. He has overall responsibility for the financial, commercial and operational management at Radley and has been involved in a number of transformational projects over the course of his 17 year tenure.

Andrew was educated at Newcastle Royal Grammar School and went on to read Chemistry at University College, Oxford. He first worked in the banking sector and became Director of Strategy, Performance and Client Services for Barclays Africa. He subsequently worked as a management consultant before joining Radley.
In addition to his significant role as a member of the Radley senior leadership team, Andrew has extensive governance experience. He was formerly Chair of the Resources Committee at Radley Primary School and a governor of St Hugh’s Prep. He is currently Chair of the Nominations Committee at the Boarding Schools Association, a governor of Shiplake College and member of the Audit Committee of University College, Oxford.
Andrew is married to Jillian, and they have one son, Philip, who is taking his A Levels this term. His interests include running, real tennis, travel and hill walking.
In his new role Andrew will assume all of Tom’s current responsibilities. He will be a member of the executive team for the Radley Schools Group, which is to be chaired by the Warden of Radley College, John Moule, and will therefore be an important part of the Group’s development.
Trustees feel fortunate to have been able to appoint such an excellent successor for Tom. Andrew will build on his outstanding achievements and lead and support our schools on a new and exciting journey.
